The Melbourne Watch Company has been around on Kickstarter for a while now, having crowdfunded a number of watches. Their latest edition, the Carlton watch, is their first foray into the world of chronographs and quartz timekeeping.
Inspired by the ‘senator’ style watches of the 1960s, the Carlton features a 42mm case, clean minimalist dial, and a modern mecha-quartz movement by Seiko. The dial features a 60 minute timer on the left hand side, a 24-hour display on the right, and a sweeping chronograph seconds hand in the centre that can be activated when needed.
The Carlton, as with all of the Melbourne Watch Company’s watches, is named to pay tribute to a part of Melbourne. Specifically, the Carlton is named after the suburb of Carlton (obviously) which is the home of the historic Royal Exhibition Centre, which features on the engraving on the back of the case.
Available in Black/Stainless Steel and Silver/Rose Gold colours, the Carlton watch will be available around September this year. Get in now on Kickstarter and get a pretty reasonable discount.
Price in Australia: AUD 455 for the Black/Stainless Steel, and AUD 475 for the Silver/Rose Gold. Shipping included
